The 15th World Probiotics & Gut
Health Conference is honored to feature Dr. Samsar Naouel, Assistant
Professor in Hepato-Gastroenterology at the University Hospital of Oran, Algeria, affiliated
with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oran. She will be presenting an
insightful session titled:
“HEPATOBILIARY
SPECTRUM IN IBD: A Hospital-Based Case Series”
Dr. Naouel’s presentation focuses on
the complex interplay between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and hepatic-biliary
manifestations, highlighting the spectrum of liver and biliary
complications observed in hospital-based patients with IBD. This session will
provide clinicians and researchers with a deeper understanding of hepatobiliary
involvement in IBD and its implications for patient management.
Hepatobiliary complications are a
significant yet often under-recognized aspect of IBD, impacting disease
prognosis and treatment strategies. Dr. Naouel’s case series will cover:
- Prevalence and types of hepatobiliary manifestations in
IBD patients
- Clinical and laboratory features observed in hospital-based
patients
- Implications for monitoring, diagnosis, and management
of liver involvement in IBD
- Correlations between Crohn’s disease and hepatobiliary
abnormalities
Her research highlights the
importance of integrated gastroenterology and hepatology care for IBD
patients.
Dr. Naouel is an Assistant Professor
in Hepato-Gastroenterology at the University Hospital of Oran since 2021. She
is currently pursuing her doctoral thesis focused on Crohn’s disease.
